Tíltide Gallery
José Luis Fernández's artistic career is closely linked to the Tíltide art gallery, which he founded in 2000.
Despite the difficulties, the gallery has carried on for over twenty years, showing the work of leading contemporary artists who left their personal mark on the art scene of the early 21st century, some of whom are now represented in major Spanish museums. And above all the work of José Luis Fernández himself, always tied to Tíltide, where his studio is based.
Stages
From watercolour to sculpture
As with most artists tirelessly searching for their own means of expression, José Luis Fernández's work has gone through different stages in recent years, stages that have been shown at Tíltide in various exhibitions.
From watercolour, his first and most genuine form of expression, through sculpture in metal and wood; oil, acrylic, collage, masks… All have found at Tíltide a place from which to reach the viewing public to whom, ultimately, every work of art is addressed.
Art duo
Avispa Verde
Together with Sara La Avispa he forms the Avispa Verde art duo, creating mixed-technique works.

José Luis lives in Madrid. Great-grandson of the prolific playwright Don Jacinto Benavente. He is a versatile artist: painter in various techniques, sculptor, musician and writer. A member of the Association of Painters and Sculptors, he has taken part since 1980 in national painting and watercolour competitions. He deeply loves Mediterranean light.
